Six Injured In Hyderabad LPG Cylinder Blast; Death Toll Rises To 16

Hyderabad authorities reported a severe LPG cylinder blast at a filling shop in the Preetabad area, leaving six injured. The incident occurred during an LPG refilling process inside a vehicle, causing burn injuries to all occupants.

Police identified the six injured as 32-year-old Ali Abbas, 30-year-old Ramsha, 50-year-old Nighat, and three children: 6-year-old Anabia, 9-year-old Anaya, and 6-year-old Jannat. All victims were immediately transferred to the Civil Hospital Burns Ward for treatment.

The blast took place at an LPG cylinder filling shop on the ground floor of Zacha Bacha Hospital area along Mir Nabi Bux Town Road in UC-8 of Neerunkot town. Eyewitnesses reported hearing a loud explosion, followed by thick smoke and fire.

Tragically, the death toll from the incident has risen to 16. Two of the previously injured victims, 15-year-old Umair and 14-year-old Abbas, succumbed to their burn injuries at Karachiโ€™s Civil Hospital. Authorities are investigating the cause of the blast and reviewing safety protocols at the LPG shop.

Local police and rescue teams rushed to the scene, managing to evacuate nearby residents and contain the fire. Officials confirmed that the victims were inside the car when the LPG cylinder ignited, emphasizing the dangers associated with improper handling of flammable gas.

The six injured continue to receive medical care, and their conditions are being closely monitored by hospital staff. Authorities have urged residents to exercise caution around LPG refilling stations and adhere to safety guidelines to prevent similar accidents.

This tragic event highlights the critical need for stricter safety regulations at LPG cylinder shops across the region. Investigations are ongoing, and authorities have assured that responsible parties will be held accountable.
