Oman will grant Filipino nationals visa-free entry for stays of up to 14 days starting in 2026. The policy aims to boost tourism, trade, and cultural cooperation between the two countries.
The announcement was made during Omanโs National Day celebrations in Makati City. Officials highlighted the initiative as part of broader efforts to strengthen bilateral relations and economic ties.
Under the new rules, Filipinos will no longer need a visa for short-term visits. This change brings the Philippines in line with over 100 countries eligible for 14-day visa-free entry to Oman. Authorities expect the move to significantly increase tourist arrivals from the Philippines.
Omani officials also revealed plans to enhance air connectivity. Direct flights to Cebu and expanded routes from Manila are being explored. Improved travel links are expected to facilitate tourism, business exchanges, and collaboration across sectors such as trade, education, and hospitality.
The Philippines remains one of Omanโs major sources of skilled foreign workers. Officials believe that the visa-free entry policy will strengthen people-to-people ties and promote cultural exchange between the two nations.
The initiative is part of Omanโs broader strategy to diversify its economy and expand its global tourism footprint. By easing travel rules, Oman hopes to attract more international visitors and reinforce its position as a leading Middle Eastern destination.
Experts note that the policy could also boost economic engagement, encouraging Filipino entrepreneurs and professionals to explore opportunities in Oman. Tourism and hospitality sectors are likely to see immediate benefits, with short-term visits becoming easier and more convenient.
The visa exemption marks a significant milestone in OmanโPhilippines relations. It is expected to pave the way for deeper cooperation, increased mobility, and stronger cultural and economic ties from 2026 onward.
