Weather Update: Rain and Snowfall Expected in Northern Pakistan Tomorrow

Weather Update Rain and Snowfall Expected in Northern Pakistan Tomorrow

The latest Weather udpate from the Meteorological Department has predicted rain and snowfall in the northern mountainous regions of Pakistan tomorrow. The change in conditions will be caused by a weak westerly system entering the country. Although the system is mild, it is strong enough to bring light rain and snow to higher altitudes.

According to the Met Office, a weak westerly wave is likely to affect the northern areas tonight and continue into tomorrow. Under this system, light rain and snowfall are expected in Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, and the upper parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Officials noted that the weather activity will be scattered but may cover a wide area in the northern belt.

This Weather udpate also mentions a drop in temperature across upper regions of the country. The Met Department has forecast that temperatures may fall by up to three degrees over the next few days. Residents in cold regions have been advised to prepare for lower temperatures, especially during early morning and nighttime. Travelers heading toward mountainous areas may face delays due to snowfall on key routes.

Despite the expected precipitation in the north, fog and smog are likely to continue affecting the plains. The spokesperson for the department stated that Punjab and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will remain under dense fog and smog during the morning and evening hours. Low visibility may cause disruptions in road travel, and authorities are expected to issue fresh advisories for commuters.

The Weather udpate further highlights that smog-related health issues may persist, urging people to wear masks and limit outdoor exposure when possible. Meanwhile, light rainfall in the upper regions may provide temporary relief from dry conditions.
