Plane Crashes Into Moving Car on Florida Highway

A small twin-engine aircraft made an emergency landing on Interstate 95 after a sudden engine failure, shocking drivers during evening rush hour. Dashcam footage captured the moment the plane crashes directly into the back of a moving vehicle before skidding across the highway.

According to officials, the Beechcraft aircraft was descending rapidly when the plane crashes into a 2023 Toyota Camry traveling in the southbound lanes. The impact damaged the rear of the car and sent sparks flying as the plane slid to a stop. Despite the dramatic scene, no deaths were reported.

The car’s driver, a 57-year-old man, was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities confirmed he is expected to recover. The 27-year-old pilot from Orlando and his passenger from Temple Terrace walked away unharmed. Both stayed at the scene and cooperated with officials.

Soon after the plane crashes, the Florida Highway Patrol began a traffic crash investigation to determine the exact cause. Initial reports indicate that the pilot reported an engine issue moments before attempting the emergency landing.

The sudden landing forced officials to temporarily close a section of the highway to ensure safety and clear debris. Traffic was diverted until crews secured the area.

Authorities say the incident could have been far worse and credited the pilot’s quick response for preventing a major disaster. Further investigations will confirm whether mechanical failure or another factor led to the emergency landing.
