Lahore DSP Held for Killing Wife, Daughter After False Kidnapping Report

LAHORE โ€“ The case involving the disappearance of a senior police officerโ€™s family has taken a shocking turn. A Lahore DSP has confessed to killing his own wife and daughter, officials confirmed on Tuesday. The admission has brought an end to weeks of uncertainty surrounding the case.

DIG Zeeshan Raza confirmed that DSP Usman Haider admitted to committing the murders. He stated that the accused used a firearm to shoot both victims. The confession was made during police interrogation after investigators gathered strong evidence against him.

According to police officials, the Lahore DSP had earlier tried to mislead authorities. About a month ago, he registered a First Information Report (FIR) at Burki Police Station. In the FIR, he falsely claimed that his wife and daughter had been kidnapped by unknown persons. This report triggered a large-scale search operation.

Investigators later noticed inconsistencies in the statements provided by the accused. Police teams continued to question him while collecting technical and forensic evidence. During this process, the officer reportedly broke down and confessed to the crime. Officials said the motive behind the killings is still under investigation.

Police further revealed that the body of the DSPโ€™s daughter was recovered from the Kahna area. In a separate development, the body of his wife was found in Sheikhupura. Both bodies were shifted to a hospital for post-mortem examinations. Medical reports are expected to provide further details about the time and cause of death.

Senior police officers stated that the case is being handled with transparency. DIG Zeeshan Raza emphasized that no one is above the law. He said the fact that the accused is a Lahore DSP will not affect the legal process. Authorities assured the public that justice will be pursued strictly under the law.

The revelation has caused shock within police circles and the wider community. Many expressed disbelief over the involvement of a serving officer in such a serious crime. Police officials said departmental action will also be taken following the completion of legal proceedings.
