LAHORE, Pakistan — According to reliable sources, Umar Farooq Kalson has been named as the new head of the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) media department, succeeding Sami-ul-Hasan Burney.
According to reputable sources, Umar, a well-known cricket writer and journalist in Pakistan, has accepted the offer made by Zaka Ashraf, the recently appointed Chairman of the Management Committee. In a week, he will officially join the PCB media department.

According to the sources, the change in leadership is part of a larger restructure within PCB as well as the media department, with additional updates and modifications expected in the near future. With immediate effect, Sami-ul-Hasan Burney and former CEO Faisal Hasnain have been reassigned to the special projects department.
Previous PCB Chairmen, including as Najam Sethi, have also made significant changes to the cricket establishment. The board is currently in the process of hiring a new head selector, following the arrival of Misbah-ul-Haq as the chairman of the cricket committee. Among the famous individuals under consideration for these critical roles are Muhammad Wasim, Inzamam-ul-Haq, Rashid Latif, and Azhar Ali.
