Pakistan Govt Launches Zarkhez App for Easy Agri Loans

ISLAMABAD – The Pakistan government has launched the Zarkhez App, a mobile platform designed to provide farmers with easy access to agricultural loans and related services.

Through the Zarkhez App, farmers can apply for loans of up to Rs1 million without visiting bank offices. The app streamlines the loan process, making financial support accessible from home.

In addition to loans, the Zarkhez App allows farmers to purchase fertilisers, seeds, and agricultural medicines through authorized bank centers. Users can also access diesel for farming needs and receive guidance on crop management, water availability, and fertiliser use.

Officials said the app complements recent initiatives by the Punjab agriculture department, which announced a special support package for potato and kinnow cultivators. The package aims to reduce costs, support farmers during peak harvest, and boost Pakistan’s agricultural exports.

The federal government has formally issued a notification confirming the package for growers and stakeholders. This coordinated effort between Punjab and federal authorities highlights the commitment to strengthening the country’s agricultural sector.

Exports of kinnow and potatoes through Iran’s transit route have increased significantly, offering lower transport costs and faster delivery times. Authorities believe this corridor will further enhance Pakistan’s position in regional agricultural markets.

The Zarkhez App is part of the government’s broader effort to modernize agriculture, provide financial inclusion to farmers, and ensure timely access to resources. Officials encourage cultivators across the country to download and use the app for easier loan applications and improved farming efficiency.
