CCTV footage shows armed suspects attempting to steal a milk container from a shop in New Karachi. Two individuals were seen exiting a car and approaching the shop.
The shopkeeper noticed the suspicious activity and tried to stop the theft. However, the armed suspects threatened him with weapons and used violence before fleeing with the milk container. The tank was reportedly filled with milk.
In response, Karachi Rangers and police launched a joint search operation in the Keamari district. Entry and exit points were sealed, and house-to-house searches were conducted in Sher Shah, Madina Colony, and parts of Baldia.
According to SSP Keamari Amjad Sheikh, 14 suspicious individuals were taken into custody, and their criminal records are under verification. Three alleged criminalsโAamir, Riaz, and Majidโwere arrested in the Sher Shah area. Weapons and narcotics were also recovered from them.
The operation included inspections of closed shops, hotels, and roadside tea stalls. Female police personnel actively participated in the search. Authorities said the crackdown aims to prevent similar incidents, ensuring public safety and security of goods like the stolen milk container.
Local residents expressed concern over the rise in armed thefts. Police have urged shopkeepers to remain vigilant and report suspicious activity immediately.
The authorities confirmed that further investigations are ongoing to identify and apprehend other accomplices involved in the theft. Officials assured that security measures would be strengthened to prevent future attacks targeting goods and local businesses.
