PTI Deletes UK Protest Footage, Officially Responds to CDF Asim Munir Remarks

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has distanced itself from remarks made by a woman during a recent rally in the United Kingdom against Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Field Marshal Asim Munir. The party emphasized that it does not endorse the views expressed by the protester.

PTI UK removed the protest footage from its official X account following the event in Bradford, which showed the woman making controversial comments targeting the army chief. The video’s deletion was described as a precautionary step to prevent misunderstandings and protect the individual’s legal rights.

In a statement, PTI Pakistan clarified that the woman involved is not a party office-bearer. The party highlighted that her language, opinions, and behavior do not represent PTI’s official stance. PTI reaffirmed its commitment to peaceful and democratic political activities and explicitly opposed violence, hate speech, and any form of incitement.

The party urged citizens and supporters to exercise restraint in public remarks, noting that independent actions should not be misconstrued as PTI’s official position. The statement also reiterated that PTI condemns any unlawful behavior and follows constitutional and democratic principles in all political matters.

Security experts noted that the circulation of such protest footage on social media could create confusion about PTI’s position. By removing the video, PTI aims to maintain clarity and ensure that the party’s public image reflects its dedication to lawful, non-violent political engagement.

PTI continues to follow the guidance of its founder, Imran Khan, emphasizing constitutional and peaceful political struggle. The party confirmed that it remains focused on promoting lawful activism and protecting democratic values, distancing itself from any individual actions that could misrepresent its principles.
