Rain Expected Across Pakistan from December 30 to January 2

ISLAMABAD – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a forecast predicting rain across several parts of the country from December 30 to January 2. Citizens are advised to take precautions as wet weather conditions are expected in multiple regions.

According to the PMD, northern and central areas of Pakistan, including Islamabad, Punjab, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, are likely to experience intermittent rain showers. The heaviest rainfall is expected in hilly and northern districts, while southern regions may receive lighter showers.

The Meteorological Department also warned of potential disruptions in traffic and road conditions due to slippery surfaces caused by continuous rain. Authorities have urged motorists to exercise caution and avoid unnecessary travel during periods of heavy showers.

Weather experts said that temperatures in affected areas may drop slightly due to cloud cover and wet conditions. Northern regions might experience cold nights, while daytime temperatures are expected to remain moderate. Rain is also likely to bring relief to areas facing dry conditions, replenishing water reservoirs and improving soil moisture levels.

The PMD emphasized that weather conditions may change rapidly and advised people to stay updated through official announcements. Farmers, commuters, and outdoor workers are particularly encouraged to monitor the forecast and plan their activities accordingly.

Additionally, the Meteorological Department highlighted that winter rain could affect road travel, flights, and public events. Authorities are coordinating with local administrations to ensure public safety and minimize disruptions.

Experts noted that while the upcoming rain may cause temporary inconveniences, it is beneficial for agriculture, water supply, and reducing air pollution in urban centers. Citizens are advised to remain prepared, carry umbrellas or raincoats, and follow safety guidelines during the forecasted rainy period.
