Punjab will launch the third phase of the Green Tractor Scheme in January 2026. The initiative aims to modernize farming practices and improve agricultural productivity across the state.
The Green Tractor Scheme provides government-backed subsidies for farmers to purchase modern tractors. In Phase 1, 10,000 tractors with 50โ75 horsepower were distributed to farmers. Phase 2 is ongoing, allocating 10,000 tractors with 75โ85 horsepower through a lottery system.
Phase 3 will be the largest yet. Over 20,000 tractors are planned for distribution in 2026, including 9,500 high-horsepower models (75โ125 HP). The goal is to strengthen Punjabโs farming efficiency and economic independence.
Eligibility for the Green Tractor Scheme requires applicants to be permanent Punjab residents with a valid CNIC. Farmers must meet land ownership requirements based on the tractor category. One tractor per household is allowed, and previous scheme beneficiaries are not eligible. Applicants must also be bank loan compliant. Kisan Cards are preferred for verification.
Required documents include CNIC, land ownership proof, a recent photograph, bank account details, and an active mobile number. Clear and accurate uploads are essential to avoid delays or rejection.
Farmers can apply online by visiting the official Green Tractor Scheme portal. Steps include entering CNIC and mobile number for OTP verification, completing personal and land details, selecting the tractor category, and uploading documents.
Applicants should review their details carefully before submitting and download the confirmation slip for reference.
Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz highlighted the importance of the program. She said the scheme provides economic independence to farmers and increases agricultural productivity. โFarmers will finally own their tractorsโwhat greater happiness can there be than that?โ she stated. She added that the government supports farmers at every stage, from sowing to harvesting and marketing their crops.
The Green Tractor Scheme is part of Punjabโs broader effort to modernize agriculture and achieve self-sufficiency. By providing high-quality tractors and machinery, the government aims to make farming more efficient, profitable, and sustainable for the provinceโs farmers.
With Phase 3, thousands of new farmers will benefit from modern equipment, helping Punjab maintain its position as a leading agricultural state in Pakistan.
