Veteran singer Anu Malik has clarified his role in the recreated track Ghar Kab Aaoge from the upcoming film Border 2.
The 65-year-old shared his statement on Instagram, emphasizing that he was credited for his contribution with respect and warmth.
He said, “This is a unique collaboration that I am genuinely proud of. I have shared my thoughts publicly on social media.”
Malik also addressed incorrect reports about the song, saying, “Any reports suggesting otherwise are based on incorrect reporting. I stand by this collaboration with pride and gratitude.”
The confusion arose because Ghar Kab Aaoge is a remake of the iconic Border song Sandese Aate Hain. Anu Malik composed the original track, while Javed Akhtar wrote the lyrics. For Border 2, Mithoon contributed new parts with words by Manoj Muntashir.
Earlier, Anu Malik told PTI that he believed the song was being recreated and that proper credit should be given. He added, “They can’t make Border 2 without Sandese Aate Hain. Both Javed Akhtar and I contributed, so our names must appear.” Following this, both Malik and Akhtar were officially credited in the teaser of the film.
Sandese Aate Hain remains one of Bollywood’s most famous war songs. The track was originally sung by Sonu Nigam and Roop Kumar Rathod and continues to be celebrated for its patriotic theme and emotional depth.
The next installment of the iconic war film, Border 2, is scheduled for release on January 23, 2026. Fans are eagerly awaiting the film, as it promises to revisit the patriotic themes that made the original Border a classic. With the recreated track and new music contributions, Border 2 aims to connect with both old and new audiences.
Anu Malik’s clarification reassures fans that proper credits have been given, maintaining transparency and respect for the original creators. The film and its music are expected to generate significant buzz in the upcoming Bollywood release season.
