Landhi Police Operation Ends in Death of 17-Year-Old Girl

KARACHI – A 17-year-old girl was killed during an alleged police operation in Landhi’s Korangi No. 6 Market, officials confirmed. She was hit by a bullet while traveling in a rickshaw with her mother and younger brother.

According to police, the incident occurred when officers confronted suspected robbers in the busy market area. The suspects allegedly fired at police as they tried to escape. During the exchange, the teenage girl was struck and died on the spot. She was the only daughter of the family.

During the police operation, one suspect riding a motorcycle, identified as Mola Bakhsh, was injured and apprehended. His accomplice reportedly fled the scene with the looted money, firing shots while escaping. Video footage of the encounter circulated on social media, showing the suspect being caught by police while a crowd tried to assault him. The injured suspect was later taken to a hospital in a police vehicle.

Police stated that the operation was part of ongoing efforts to crack down on street criminals in the area. Investigations are ongoing to determine the exact circumstances that led to the girl’s death.

In a separate incident, Karachi police reported that a most-wanted criminal, Rizwan, was killed during another police operation in Model Colony. Rizwan was involved in multiple serious crimes, including murder and robbery. During the shootout, his accomplice managed to flee, while police recovered a pistol and ammunition from the suspect.

SSP Korangi Fida Hussain Janwari said Rizwan had over 24 criminal cases registered against him and was responsible for numerous violent acts, including the murder of a 12-year-old boy. CCTV footage further links him to various criminal activities.

Authorities emphasized that these operations are part of Karachi police’s ongoing efforts to curb street crime. They called for caution in public areas during such encounters and urged citizens to report suspicious activity promptly.
