A major development has taken place in Pakistanโs digital finance sector with a high-level meeting at the Prime Ministerโs Office. The session brought together the Pakistan Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (PVARA) and a delegation from the United Arab Emirates.
The meeting was attended by the UAE-based DAMAC Group and its regulated platform, Prypco. DAMAC Group is a global private real estate and investment conglomerate. UAE Ambassador to Pakistan, Salem Mohammed Al Zaabi, also joined as a special guest.
The discussions focused on the tokenisation of real estate, government assets, and debt instruments. PVARA Chairman Bilal bin Saqib said tokenisation could become a national economic driver. He highlighted that it would convert idle assets into investable opportunities.
โTokenisation will enable secure and transparent international investment in real estate and other asset classes,โ Bilal bin Saqib added. He emphasized that these measures aim to modernize Pakistanโs digital finance sector and attract foreign investors.
In addition, Bilal bin Saqib confirmed that cryptocurrency mining activities would begin in Pakistan in the coming weeks. He explained that new technologies for bitcoin mining have emerged, allowing mining cards to be installed directly at power plants. This will support efficient energy use during the mining process.
Experts believe that tokenisation and crypto mining could significantly enhance Pakistanโs digital finance sector, providing more investment options and improving financial transparency. The government is working to ensure that the framework is secure, well-regulated, and aligned with international standards.
The initiative reflects Pakistanโs commitment to adopting technology-driven financial solutions. Authorities hope these measures will encourage both local and international participation in digital finance, supporting economic growth and innovation.
Officials expect that the combination of tokenisation and upcoming crypto mining projects will strengthen Pakistanโs position in the global digital finance sector.
