The two-week-long Inspired Gambit 2026 exercise is currently underway, involving professional contingents from the armies of Pakistan and the United States.
The opening ceremony of the exercise was attended by senior officials from both countries, highlighting the commitment to joint counter-terrorism efforts.
According to Pakistan’s military media wing, the exercise focuses on improving interoperability and sharing counter-terrorism experiences. It also aims to refine tactics, techniques, and procedures essential for effective operations.
“Emphasis is being laid on marksmanship skills during urban warfare and understanding each other’s operational doctrines,” the ISPR said.
The joint training is designed to enhance professional military standards and strengthen both countries’ capacity to operate in complex counter-terrorism environments. Inspired Gambit 2026 underscores the importance of collaborative exercises in addressing evolving security challenges.
Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, highlighted that national security priorities are shifting from geopolitics to geo-economics. He expressed confidence that bilateral cooperation with the US will expand further in 2026.
Ambassador Rizwan Sheikh also referred to the security threats posed by India’s aggressive posture in May 2025, emphasizing the need for stronger regional collaboration to ensure stability.
The Inspired Gambit 2026 exercise reflects the continued commitment of Pakistan and the United States to joint peace and stability initiatives. The ISPR stated that such exercises remain vital for refining counter-terrorism skills and fostering professional ties between the two militaries.
Officials said the exercise will continue for two weeks, with both sides conducting multiple drills, tactical simulations, and scenario-based operations to prepare for evolving security threats.
