Sohail Afridi Claims PPP-Led Sindh Government Created Barriers For PTI Rally

A PTI rally in Karachi faced significant challenges as police detained party workers and placed barriers on major roads. Despite these measures, a large number of supporters still gathered at Numaish Chowrangi.

Sohail Afridi, speaking after the event, said that PTI has faced unfair treatment in Punjab and similar difficulties in Sindh. He claimed the Sindh government tried to stop the PTI rally but could not discourage supporters.

Afridi added that party workers removed obstacles themselves to ensure the gathering remained successful. He stated that the people of Karachi showed their continued support for PTIโ€™s founding leadership.

The PTI leader also accused the Sindh government of acting against democratic values. He alleged that cultural symbols, including the Sindhi cap and Ajrak, were disrespected during the event. Afridi warned that the public would not forget such actions.

He further claimed that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has altered the constitutional structure of the country. According to Afridi, Sindh is currently under a dictatorial style of governance, and no one should be allowed to deprive citizens of their rights.

The PTI rally caused massive traffic disruptions across Karachi. Roads leading to Numaish Chowrangi were sealed by police, creating congestion in multiple areas of the city.

Long queues of vehicles were reported on Rashid Minhas Road, with traffic moving extremely slowly. Police were also stationed near Federal Urdu University in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, adding to traffic pressure.

Heavy congestion affected University Road, Sir Shah Suleman Road, and stretches from Ghareebabad to Karsaz. Commuters reported taking nearly two hours to travel just two kilometers, highlighting the scale of the disruption.

Despite these hurdles, the PTI rally went ahead successfully. The event showcased strong public support and emphasized the partyโ€™s commitment to defending citizensโ€™ rights.

Authorities continue to monitor traffic in Karachi following the PTI rally to restore normal flow on key roads.
