Salman Ali Agha Breaks Records with Stunning T20I Performance

Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha has set a new T20I record for the highest strike rate by a captain during the third T20I against Sri Lanka in Dambulla.

Agha delivered a breathtaking performance, scoring 45 runs off just 12 balls. His innings included 5 boundaries and 3 towering sixes. This explosive knock gave him a strike rate of 375.0, surpassing the previous record of West Indies’ Kieron Pollard.

Pollard had held the record since 2021, scoring 38 runs off 11 balls against Sri Lanka at a strike rate of 345.5. Other notable players like Quinton de Kock, Rohit Sharma, and Darren Sammy were also on this list, but Salman Ali Agha now leads with his remarkable innings.

The match itself was interrupted by rain and eventually decided using the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern (DLS) method. Sri Lanka managed a 14-run victory while defending their total of 160 runs. This win leveled the three-match T20I series at 1-1.

Earlier, Pakistan had won the first T20I by six wickets, while the second game was washed out due to persistent rain, preventing any play. Despite the series interruption, Agha’s innings stood out as one of the most explosive and record-breaking performances in T20I history.

Experts praised Salman Ali Agha for his fearless approach and ability to dominate bowlers in a pressure situation. His innings not only set a new benchmark for T20I captains but also energized Pakistan’s batting lineup ahead of future matches.
