DERA ISMAIL KHAN โ Two terrorists were killed in a swift retaliatory operation by police after an attack on a checkpoint in the Khathi area of DI Khan.
District Police Officer (DPO) Sajjad Ahmed Sahibzada stated that unidentified militants launched an assault on the police post late Wednesday night. The police responded quickly, repelling the attackers and forcing them to flee.
DPO Sahibzada praised the bravery of officers, noting their decisive action in thwarting the attack. One police officer sustained injuries during the exchange of fire and is receiving medical treatment. Investigations are ongoing to track any remaining terrorists involved in the incident.
Earlier this month, security forces carried out a separate operation in Balochistanโs Kalat district. Acting on intelligence reports, the operation targeted militants affiliated with the Indian proxy group Fitna-e-Hindustan. Four terrorists were killed in the operation after a heavy exchange of fire.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), weapons and ammunition were recovered from the terrorists. These militants had been actively involved in several terrorist activities in the area. A sanitization operation is ongoing to ensure no remaining terrorists are present.
The ISPR highlighted that these operations align with Azm-e-Istehkam under the National Action Plan. Pakistanโs security forces and law enforcement agencies remain committed to eliminating foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country.
Authorities emphasized that swift and coordinated responses are crucial to preventing attacks and ensuring the safety of citizens. The recent operations in DI Khan and Kalat reflect ongoing efforts to dismantle terrorist networks and strengthen national security.
