Get Ready For More Adventure: SYBO Launches ‘Subway Surfers City’

SYBO, the studio behind the globally popular mobile game Subway Surfers, has announced a sequel titled Subway Surfers City, set for worldwide release on February 26.

The new game builds on the 2012 original, keeping the iconic train-track chase while introducing an enhanced visual style and expanded environments. Players will explore Subway City, an animated metropolis featuring four unlockable districts: The Docks, Southline, Sunrise Blvd, and Delorean Park.

Developed by the same team behind the original hit, Subway Surfers City aims to broaden the franchise’s universe while keeping familiar elements that fans know and love. The original Subway Surfers has surpassed 4.5 billion lifetime downloads as of 2025 and has over 30 million followers across social media.

The sequel will follow a seasonal content model, with regular updates adding new city areas, characters, outfits, and hoverboards. Players can expect new gameplay mechanics, including speed pads, a stomp move to reveal hidden advantages, and a bouncy shield that enhances jumping abilities.

Subway Surfers City offers three gameplay modes. Classic Endless preserves the high-speed, high-score gameplay of the original. City Tour is level-based, featuring exploration missions and specific objectives. Events will rotate timed challenges for added variety.

The game will be free to download on iOS and Android, including Google Play, with optional in-app purchases. Pre-registration opens this week, allowing fans to secure early access.

SYBO CEO Mathias Gredal Norvig described the sequel as the next phase of the franchise’s evolution. He said the studio wanted to offer new ways for players to engage with the Subway Surfers City universe while preserving the charm that made the original a long-term success.

With Subway Surfers City, fans can expect an immersive, fresh experience while keeping the fast-paced, fun gameplay that has made Subway Surfers a household name for nearly 15 years.
