The Punjab Boards Committee of Chairpersons (PBCC) has issued a new schedule for matriculation and intermediate examinations in 2026. The revision was made considering the holy month of Ramazan.
Originally, the exams were set to start on March 3, 2026. However, under the new schedule, examinations will now take place after Eidul Fitr, which is expected in Pakistan from February 18 to March 18, 2026.
The PBCC approved the tentative dates for SSC (Matric) and HSSC (Intermediate) first and second annual exams during a meeting held in Lahore. A notification confirmed that the new schedule was unanimously approved, as proposed by the Controller of Examinations, PBCC/BISE Lahore.
According to the revised plan, SSC first annual exams for classes nine and ten will start on March 27, 2026. The tentative result for class ten (Part-II) is expected on August 6, 2026, while class nine (Part-I) results are likely to be announced on September 2, 2026. The SSC second annual exams will begin on October 6, 2026, with tentative results on December 8, 2026.
HSSC first annual exams for classes eleven and twelve will commence on May 20, 2026. The result for class twelve (Part-II) is expected on September 23, 2026, and class eleven (Part-I) on October 22, 2026. HSSC second annual exams will start on November 3, 2026, with tentative results on January 12, 2027.
The notification also provided deadlines for admissions with single, double, and triple fees for both SSC and HSSC exams. These deadlines will be strictly followed by all educational boards across Punjab.
The PBCC emphasized that the new schedule is designed to ensure smooth conduct of exams and allow students sufficient preparation time after Ramazan. All boards are required to adhere to the revised dates for 2026 examinations.
