Trump Invites Erdogan and Sisi to Join Gaza Peace Board

US President Donald Trump has invited Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi to join the newly formed Gaza Peace Board. The board is tasked with overseeing Gaza’s temporary governance amid the fragile ceasefire in place since October.

The White House confirmed that the executive panel will include key international figures such as US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, World Bank President Ajay Banga, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan. The board will supervise governance, regional diplomacy, reconstruction financing, and investment mobilization in Gaza.

Turkey’s presidency said it received an official invitation for President Erdogan to join the panel. Meanwhile, Egypt is reviewing the invitation, with the Egyptian Foreign Minister noting that a decision is under consideration.

Former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair expressed his honor at being appointed to the Gaza Peace Board. “I thank President Trump for his leadership in establishing the Board of Peace and am honored to be appointed to its Executive Board,” Blair said in a statement.

The White House said the broader Gaza Peace Board will provide strategic oversight, coordinate international resources, and ensure accountability during Gaza’s transition from conflict to development.

Under the transitional framework, the US also plans to deploy an international stabilization force and appoint a high representative to manage governance, security, and reconstruction efforts in Gaza.

Experts note that the formation of the Gaza Peace Board represents a significant international effort to support the territory’s recovery and promote long-term stability. The board’s work will focus on rebuilding infrastructure, fostering economic growth, and strengthening governance structures.
