Pakistan’s Public Holidays 2026 Announced Full List and Notification

The Pakistani government has officially announced the Public Holidays 2026, giving citizens, offices, and institutions a clear schedule for the year. The notification was shared by the Cabinet Secretariat through the Cabinet Division. It includes national, religious, and minority holidays.

The first Public Holidays 2026 will start with Kashmir Day on Thursday, 5 February. Pakistan Day will follow on Monday, 23 March. Employees and students can plan ahead for these important national celebrations.

Eid-ul-Fitr will be observed for three days, from 21 to 23 March. Labour Day will be marked on Friday, 1 May, while Youm-e-Takbeer falls on Thursday, 28 May. Later in the year, Eid-ul-Adha will bring three consecutive holidays on 27, 28, and 29 May.

The 9th and 10th of Muharram, corresponding to 24 and 25 June, will also be observed as public holidays. Pakistan’s Independence Day will be celebrated on Friday, 14 August, followed by Eid Milad-un-Nabi on Tuesday, 25 August.

In November, a public holiday will be observed on Monday, 9 November, to honor Allama Iqbal’s birth anniversary. The year will conclude with a major holiday on Friday, 25 December, celebrating both Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s birthday and Christmas. Additionally, 26 December will be a holiday exclusively for the Christian community.

Apart from these, the government also announced bank holidays on 1 January, 18 February, and 1 July. These additions allow financial institutions and businesses to plan their schedules for the year.

The release of Public Holidays 2026 has been welcomed by employees, educational institutions, and businesses. Many expressed that the early notification helps in planning vacations, events, and work schedules well in advance.
