The Punjab government is planning to establish separate Police Stations in all private housing societies across the province. The move aims to improve security and ensure faster responses to emergencies.
According to officials, the Punjab Board of Revenue (BoR) has finalized recommendations for the new arrangement. The proposed system will include a dedicated para-force assigned to act against illegal activities within housing societies. This will help resolve long-standing security and law enforcement issues in these communities.
The new Police Stations will operate under special legislation. The para-force will be attached to each police station through the housing society regulator, allowing coordinated action with regular police when necessary. Officials said the force will have authority to take immediate steps against violations of law, including trespassing, theft, and other criminal activities.
Special powers will also be granted to the para-force to ensure that residents’ complaints are addressed promptly. The government hopes that establishing dedicated Police Stations within housing societies will improve law enforcement efficiency and strengthen community trust in security institutions.
Once the Punjab government approves the proposal, it will be forwarded to the federal government for final clearance. Authorities stressed that the initiative is part of broader efforts to modernize policing and provide safer residential environments.
