Putin Invited to Trump’s Gaza ‘Board of Peace,’ Kremlin Confirms

Russian President Vladimir Putin has been invited to join US President Donald Trump’s “Board of Peace,” the Kremlin confirmed on Monday. The board aims to oversee governance, reconstruction, and humanitarian efforts in postwar Gaza.

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told reporters that President Putin received the invitation and that Moscow is currently reviewing the offer. He did not clarify if Putin plans to accept.

The “Board of Peace” is chaired by President Trump and includes global figures tasked with resolving long-standing conflicts in the Middle East. The initiative follows the recent Israel-Hamas conflict, which has worsened conditions in Gaza.

Russia has historically maintained relationships with both Israel and the Palestinians. However, the ongoing war in Ukraine and the Israel-Hamas conflict have shifted Moscow’s focus toward Iran and other regional allies. Despite this, Russia continues to engage with humanitarian and diplomatic initiatives in the Middle East.

Putin has praised Trump’s efforts to mediate conflicts. Last October, he said Trump was actively working to resolve crises in the region that have persisted for decades. “If we succeed in achieving everything Donald has strived for… it will be a historic event,” Putin added.

The Kremlin also highlighted Russia’s role in supporting Palestinians. Putin called the humanitarian situation in Gaza “a catastrophe in the full sense of the word” during a meeting with Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas last year. Moscow has provided ongoing aid to the region and emphasized the need for international cooperation.

The invitation to join the “Board of Peace” signals an opportunity for Russia to participate in postwar Gaza reconstruction and humanitarian planning. Observers say Putin’s potential involvement could strengthen Russia’s diplomatic influence in the Middle East while addressing the urgent needs of civilians in Gaza.

The White House has reached out to several international leaders for the board. If Russia accepts, it would mark another key step in global efforts to stabilize the region following the latest conflicts.
