The ISPR Winter Internship Programme 2026 continued for university students across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The programme aims to introduce students to the defence sector and strengthen patriotism among youth.
During the programme, students visited the Special Services Group (SSG) Para Training School in Peshawar. Expert instructors provided a detailed briefing on para jumps and training operations. Students also observed practical demonstrations of paratrooper exercises.
Many participants showed keen interest in the special equipment used by SSG commandos. They had the opportunity to experience tower jumps themselves under expert supervision. The students praised the professionalism, discipline, and sacrifices of the armed forces during their visit.
At the end of the session, students described the Para Training School as highly educational and practical. They said the internship helped bridge gaps between perception and reality regarding the defence sector.
Several students highlighted the importance of learning beyond textbooks and social media. “Many misconceptions have already been cleared,” one participant said. Students appreciated interacting with professionals and gaining hands-on experience, calling it a valuable learning opportunity.
Participants also expressed gratitude for the direct engagement with the Pakistan Army. They emphasized that programmes like these foster trust, awareness, and a stronger connection between the youth and the nation. “The army and the people are one,” said many attendees.
ISPR officials confirmed that similar initiatives would continue in the future. The goal is to engage students, develop informed future leaders, and enhance understanding of national security issues.
