Pakistan has officially announced its squad for the T20 World Cup 2026, set to begin on February 7 in Colombo. The tournament will run until March 8 and will be co-hosted by Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
The squad was revealed at a press conference held at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore. PCB Director High Performance Aqib Javed, Pakistan T20I captain Salman Ali Agha, and white-ball head coach Michael James Hesson were present to announce the team.
Pakistan has been placed in Group A and will face the Netherlands in their opening match on February 7. The team will play four group matches before advancing to the Super Eight and Knockout stages.
The squad features a mix of experienced players and new talents. Captain Salman Ali Agha, Faheem Ashraf, Khawaja Mohammad Nafay, Mohammad Salman Mirza, Sahibzada Farhan, and Usman Tariq have been called up for their first T20 World Cup 2026. Meanwhile, seasoned players like Babar Azam, Fakhar Zaman, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Shadab Khan, Abrar Ahmed, Mohammad Nawaz, Naseem Shah, and Usman Khan bring prior World Cup experience to the team.
In preparation for the tournament, Pakistan will face Australia in a three-match T20I series at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, on January 29, 31, and February 1. The national team has already started its training and practice camp to ensure readiness for the mega event.
The full squad for the T20 World Cup 2026 includes Salman Ali Agha (captain), Abrar Ahmed, Babar Azam, Faheem Ashraf, Fakhar Zaman, Khawaja Mohammad Nafay (wk), Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Salman Mirza, Naseem Shah, Sahibzada Farhan (wk), Saim Ayub, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Shadab Khan, Usman Khan (wk), and Usman Tariq.
