Ranbir Kapoor confirms dual role in the upcoming Animal Park, the sequel to the 2023 hit Animal. The actor revealed the news in a recent interview with Deadline Hollywood.
He stated that the film, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, is part of a planned three-part franchise. Ranbir said production will begin in 2027, after Vanga completes his current project, Spirit.
“We should start Animal Park in 2027. It’s a bit away,” Ranbir said, adding that the story will continue to expand beyond the first film.
Ranbir Kapoor confirms dual role, explaining that he will play both the protagonist and antagonist. The storyline includes the antagonist undergoing plastic surgery, transforming into a body double who resembles the hero.
He shared, “We have been sharing ideas from the first film itself. How he wants to take the story forward. It’s very exciting because now I get to play two characters, the antagonist and the protagonist.”
The actor praised Vanga’s vision, calling him “an extremely original director” and expressing excitement about being part of the ambitious project.
Animal, released in 2023, starred Ranbir Kapoor alongside Anil Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, and Triptii Dimri. Bobby Deol played the antagonist in the first film. The movie received strong box office success, paving the way for a full-fledged franchise.
