PTI Calls For Immediate Meeting With Founder Amid Reports of ‘Worsening Health’

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Tuesday demanded urgent access to party founder Imran Khan amid reports of his worsening health in Adiala Jail.

The party cited medical reports indicating that Imran Khan is suffering from a serious eye condition, possibly Central Retinal Vein Occlusion (CRVO). Doctors have warned that the condition could threaten his eyesight if not treated promptly.

PTI claimed that jail authorities are insisting on treating Khan within the prison, but medical experts said the procedure requires a fully equipped operation theatre and specialised facilities. The party argued that continued delays could further endanger his health.

The situation has escalated concerns after PTI said the former prime minister’s personal doctor has still not been allowed to examine him, despite Islamabad High Court orders. A request for a proper medical check-up has reportedly been pending since August 2025.

PTI leaders also demanded that Khan be granted immediate meetings with family members and senior party officials. “His worsening health requires urgent attention and cannot be ignored,” the party stated.

Earlier, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar spoke to the media, highlighting the constitutional and legal rights of Imran Khan. He emphasized that the party aims to ensure Khan receives proper medical care and that no undue allegations are directed at authorities without evidence.

Gohar praised the Pakistan Army for maintaining national stability while stressing that PTI leaders only seek legal access to Khan. “Meeting the PTI founder is our constitutional right. Family members and colleagues need to ensure his wellbeing,” he said.

Medical experts and party leaders have repeatedly warned that ignoring Khan’s worsening health could have serious consequences. PTI reiterated that timely intervention is critical, urging authorities to allow immediate treatment in a proper medical facility.

With his condition reportedly deteriorating, the party insists that both legal and humanitarian obligations be fulfilled without further delay.
