The news shocked the actor and his family. “On January 13, 2014, we were eating pizza with my son when the first symptom appeared—he passed blood in his urine. Within three hours, we were at the doctor’s clinic,” Emraan recalled in an interview with Ranveer Allahbadia.
Doctors advised immediate surgery and chemotherapy. Hashmi described the ordeal as “the most difficult phase” of his life, saying his world “flipped in an instant.”
After years of treatment and perseverance, Ayaan was declared cancer-free in 2019. Emraan Hashmi and his wife, Parveen Shahani, celebrated the milestone quietly, emphasizing family support and resilience.
Recently, Emraan Hashmi spoke about another unexpected event—his cameo in Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan’s Netflix series, Ba**ds of Bollywood, which went viral online. In an interview with Galatta India, he shared his honest thoughts about the sudden online attention.
“Nothing has changed for me. It suddenly blew up,” said the actor, explaining that the cameo was only a two-day commitment. He added, “I still don’t understand why it went viral. I don’t take these things very seriously or mull over them.”
Despite stepping back from the limelight for personal reasons, Emraan Hashmi continues to engage with projects selectively. He remains respected in the industry for his performances and his candid approach to discussing personal challenges.
