Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has praised the establishment of the Punjab Agriculture Food and Drug Authority, calling it a major step toward ensuring food safety and public health in the province.
Speaking on the initiative, the Prime Minister described the new authority as “a service of great value to the nation” that will benefit not only Punjab but the entire country. He highlighted the efforts of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz in creating a modern, technology-driven institution to support food security and public welfare.
“The Punjab Agriculture Food and Drug Authority will serve as a regional center of excellence,” he said. The authority will focus on eliminating food adulteration, ensuring safe nutrition, and supporting scientific investigations to provide clear evidence against food-related crimes.
Prime Minister Sharif noted that the institution will combine modern technology with expert oversight. This approach aims to strengthen food safety standards, improve agricultural practices, and set benchmarks for similar initiatives across Pakistan. He also congratulated the Chief Minister on taking proactive measures to enhance public health and praised the contributions of scientists and experts involved in the project.
