ISLAMABAD: The Australia Awards program continues to support Pakistan through fully-funded master’s level scholarships. These scholarships aim to develop future leaders and strengthen ties between Pakistan and Australia.
The program focuses on long-term development, leadership training, and people-to-people connections. It prepares students to address Pakistan’s challenges while promoting a stable and prosperous regional future.
Applicants are evaluated based on academic performance, professional experience, leadership potential, and the ability to contribute to development in Pakistan. The program encourages applications from women, marginalized groups, and people with disabilities.
Priority Fields of Study
The governments of Pakistan and Australia regularly review priority study areas. Current focus fields include climate change, women’s empowerment, agriculture, water security, infrastructure, and inclusive economic development. Scholarship Benefits
Australia Awards scholarships cover full tuition, return airfare, living expenses, overseas health cover, and fieldwork allowances. Students also receive pre-departure training and an introductory academic program upon arrival in Australia.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must be Pakistani citizens living in Pakistan, aged under 45, with 16 years of education and at least five years of relevant work experience. Candidates must submit a Development Impact and Linkages Plan showing their contribution to Pakistan’s development. Selected scholars must return to Pakistan for a minimum of two years after completing their studies.
Application and Selection
Applications for the 2027 intake opened on 1 February 2026 and will close on 30 April 2026 at 14:00 AEST. All submissions must be online through the OASIS portal. Shortlisted candidates will undergo interviews and evaluation, with final selections announced in late 2026.
Eligible Fields of Study
The program supports diverse disciplines aligned with Sustainable Development Goals. These include agriculture, education, public policy, finance, human rights, energy, environmental policy, water resources, disaster management, gender studies, and public health.
