Pakistan Weather Update: Rain Expected in Several Areas, Says Met Office

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecasts rains and thunderstorms across several parts of the country over the next 24 hours.

Islamabad is expected to receive intermittent showers tonight, accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms. Authorities have warned residents to stay cautious during the wet conditions.

Murree, Galiyat, and nearby hill areas are likely to receive both rain and snowfall, according to PMD forecasts. Similar conditions are expected in Chitral, Dera, Swat, Kalam, Shangla, and Kohistan, where rainfall may combine with snow at higher altitudes.

The department also forecasts rains in several districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Peshawar, Mardan, Swabi, Charsadda, Buner, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, and Haripur. Residents are advised to remain alert, especially on slippery roads.

In Balochistan, most areas will remain cold and dry. However, Quetta, Ziarat, Zhob, and Musa Khel may receive rain and snowfall, as PMD forecasts rains and snow in isolated hilly regions.

Meanwhile, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan are expected to face strong winds, thunderstorms, and showers in several locations. The weather department has urged travelers and tourists visiting hill stations to check updated forecasts before planning trips.

The PMD forecasts rains and thunderstorms as part of a seasonal pattern affecting the northern and northeastern regions. Citizens are advised to take precautionary measures, protect livestock, and avoid traveling in high-risk areas during heavy rain or snowfall.

With winter conditions still prevailing in hill stations, the combination of rain and snow may increase the risk of road closures. Authorities in affected districts have been advised to keep emergency response teams ready.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department will continue to monitor weather patterns and provide updates as forecasts rains and snowfall persist in the coming days.
