Karachi Kings have secured Pakistanโs T20I captain Salman Ali Agha in a major signing ahead of the upcoming season. The franchise acquired the player for Rs58.5 million in the latest round of player acquisitions.
Salman Ali Agha is a right-handed batter with experience in domestic and league cricket. Before joining Karachi Kings, he represented Lahore Qalandars and Islamabad United as a marquee player in domestic competitions.
The move is seen as an important addition to the Karachi Kings squad. The team aims to strengthen its middle order with experienced local players. Aghaโs leadership role in the national T20I side also adds value to the franchise.
In the Pakistan Super League (PSL), Agha has played 36 matches so far. He has scored 730 runs at an average of 22.81. The batter has registered three half-centuries. His highest score in the league stands at 64.
Team officials believe his experience will help improve consistency in the batting lineup. His ability to anchor the innings and rotate strike is considered an asset in T20 cricket.
Meanwhile, other franchises also made key signings. Australiaโs Max Bryant joined Islamabad United for Rs195 million. His signing is among the highest in the latest acquisitions.
However, several players remained unsold. South Africaโs Wiaan Mulder did not attract any bids. Similarly, Tayyab Tahir, Mohammad Zulqarnain, Mohammad Umar Burki, and Nahid Rana were not picked by any franchise.
Englandโs Tom Lammonby also went unsold in the recent round.
Cricket analysts say the addition of Salman Ali Agha could strengthen Karachi Kings in the upcoming tournament. His domestic and international exposure may provide balance to the squad.
The franchise has not yet announced further changes to its lineup. More updates are expected as teams finalize their squads before the next PSL season.
