Karachi witnessed a series of violent incidents on Wednesday, with separate shootings reported in different neighborhoods, leaving multiple dead and injured.
In Memon Goth, two men were shot dead while a woman sustained injuries. Police said both male victims suffered fatal head wounds. The injured woman was found in a bushy area near a private housing society off the Super Highway.
According to her initial statement, two unidentified men opened fire before fleeing. Investigators recovered several 9mm pistol shells and empty alcohol bottles from the scene. Authorities are still investigating the motive behind this attack.
In a second incident in Shereen Jinnah Colony, an uncle allegedly shot and killed his two nephews over a long-standing financial dispute. The violence erupted after a jirga, or tribal council, failed to resolve the matter. Police arrested the suspect following the gunfire, which escalated during a scuffle. The deceased were identified as Kamran and Sartaj.
Further separate shootings were reported in Orangi Town, where a young man named Huzaifa was critically injured after being shot in the stomach while resisting a robbery. Local residents intervened, chasing the robbers, subjecting them to mob justice, and later handing them to police.
Additionally, three individuals were injured in a firing incident in Delhi Colony. Police confirmed that investigations into all four incidents, including motives and identities of suspects, are ongoing.
Authorities have urged citizens to remain vigilant while promising thorough investigations into these violent incidents. These separate shootings highlight a rising concern over public safety in Karachi and the urgent need for preventive measures.
