T20 World Cup: Farhan’s Century Guides Pakistan To 199-3 Against Namibia

Sahibzada Farhan’s commanding century guided Pakistan to 199 for three in a must-win ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 clash on Wednesday.

Batting first at the Sinhalese Sports Club, Pakistan started confidently as openers Saim Ayub and Farhan attacked from the outset. The pair added 40 runs before Ayub was dismissed for 14 off 12 balls by Jack Brassell.

Farhan ton powers Pakistan as he built a crucial second-wicket partnership of 67 runs with captain Salman Ali Agha. Their stand pushed Pakistan past 100 and set the foundation for a big total.

Farhan continued his dominance, reaching his 10th T20 international fifty with ease. Agha was eventually dismissed for 38 off 23 balls, leaving Pakistan at 107 for two in the 13th over.

In an unusual move, Babar Azam was held back while Khawaja Nafay came in at the top order. Nafay was dismissed quickly for five off five balls by opposing captain Gerhard Erasmus.

Shadab Khan joined Farhan, and Pakistan briefly lost momentum as Shadab struggled to find timing. Yet, Farhan ton powers the innings, striking regular boundaries to take Pakistan past 150.

The right-hander reached his maiden T20 international century, becoming the second Pakistani after Ahmed Shehzad to achieve a hundred in a T20 World Cup. Farhan and Shadab added a 50-run partnership for the fourth wicket, with Shadab scoring 36 off 22 balls.

Pakistan finished strongly at 199 for three. Farhan remained unbeaten on 100 from 58 balls, hitting 11 fours and four sixes. Shadab provided late impetus with boundaries and sixes, complementing Farhan’s masterclass.

Experts praised Farhan’s innings as a perfect mix of aggression and composure, demonstrating why Farhan ton powers Pakistan’s T20 success. Fans celebrated the innings, noting it as one of the best individual performances of the tournament so far.

Farhan’s century not only set a strong target but also lifted team morale, positioning Pakistan as a serious contender in the 2026 T20 World Cup.
