Tecno has officially unveiled its latest Tecno Camon 50 and Tecno Camon 50 Pro smartphones in select African markets ahead of the global launch at Mobile World Congress next month. The new series focuses on high-performance features, advanced cameras, and vibrant displays.
Design and Display
The Tecno Camon 50 Pro comes with a 6.78-inch AMOLED display, Full HD+ resolution, and a 144Hz refresh rate. It features a curved panel and an under-display optical fingerprint sensor. The standard Tecno Camon 50 offers the same screen size, resolution, and refresh rate but with a flat display.
Both models are available in multiple colors, including Moonlight Black, Malachite Green, Nebula Titanium, Fir Green, Lavender Mist, and Mint Cream. The Pro variant also introduces an exclusive Ethereal Blue option.
Performance and Software
Both smartphones are powered by MediaTek’s Helio G200 Ultimate chipset with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. They run HiOS 16 based on Android 16 and include Tecno’s AI suite. Additionally, both phones have IP68, IP69, and IP69K water and dust resistance ratings.
Camera Setup
The Tecno Camon 50 series features a 50MP main rear camera with Sony’s LYT700C sensor, optical image stabilization, and a 23mm equivalent focal length. An 8MP ultrawide lens and a 32MP front camera handle wide-angle shots and selfies. The Pro model adds a 50MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom for enhanced photography.
Battery and Pricing
Both devices have a 6,150mAh battery with 45W wired fast charging. The Tecno Camon 50 is priced at $290, while the Camon 50 Pro starts at $341, offering strong mid-range competition.
