Rajpal Yadav Loan Case: Businessman Finally Breaks His Silence

Rajpal Yadav Loan Case: Businessman Finally Breaks His Silence

The Delhi High Court on February 17 granted interim bail to actor Rajpal Yadav in a case related to a bounced cheque and a ₹9 crore debt. The case has drawn attention due to fresh statements from the businessman involved.

Madhav Gopal Agarwal, owner of Murli Projects Pvt. Ltd., has spoken publicly about the long-running dispute with Rajpal Yadav. He said the actor had approached him for financial help through Member of Parliament Mithilesh Kumar Katheria.

According to Agarwal, Rajpal Yadav told him that his film was almost complete. He claimed the project would collapse without urgent funding. Agarwal said he was hesitant at first. He added that he does not run a large financial company and was unsure about lending such a big amount.

However, Agarwal stated that he eventually agreed after receiving repeated messages from the actor’s wife. He said he felt emotional pressure during that time. An agreement was reportedly made for ₹8 crore.

After the film failed at the box office, the repayment dispute began. Agarwal approached the Delhi High Court in 2013, seeking recovery of ₹10.40 crore. He said he visited Rajpal Yadav’s Mumbai residence multiple times during mediation efforts in 2015. On two occasions, he said he broke down in tears as he had borrowed money from others to provide the loan.

It is important to note that Rajpal Yadav had earlier served time in Tihar Jail in connection with this financial dispute. Reports state that he originally borrowed ₹5 crore from the Delhi-based firm. The funds were used to finance his 2012 directorial debut, Ata Pata Laapata, which did not perform well commercially.

The recent interim bail granted by the Delhi High Court offers temporary relief to Rajpal Yadav while legal proceedings continue. The case highlights the financial risks associated with film production and private lending agreements.

Both parties are expected to continue legal proceedings as the matter moves forward in court.
