Fitrana, Fidya & Kaffara 2026 Rates Announced — Check the Updated Amounts!

Religious scholar Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman has announced the updated rates for Fitrana, Fidya & Kaffara for the current year. The official announcement provides clear payment details based on market prices of essential commodities. These rates help Muslims calculate their religious obligations during Ramadan and beyond in an accurate way.

The amount for Fitrana, Fidya & Kaffara depends on the value of daily food items. For wheat (2kg), the rate is Rs 300 per person.

For barley (4kg), the amount is Rs 1,160. For dates (4kg), the rate is Rs 2,800, while raisins (4kg) are set at Rs 7,200 per person. These figures represent the minimum recommended contributions, and people may choose to pay more if they wish.

Kaffarah applies to those who deliberately break a fast without a valid reason. The penalty requires feeding 60 deserving people two meals daily.

If calculated in cash based on commodities, the amounts are: wheat Rs 18,000, barley Rs 69,600, dates Rs 168,000, and raisins Rs 432,000. The rules clarify that Fitrana, Fidya & Kaffara serve different purposes and must be paid according to specific conditions.

Fidya is meant for elderly individuals or people with chronic and incurable illnesses who are unable to fast permanently due to medical reasons.

Temporary patients and travelers cannot pay Fidya. They must complete their missed fasts later when they are able. Anyone who breaks a fast without valid religious permission must observe Kaffarah. This includes fasting for 60 consecutive days. If someone cannot fast for health reasons, financial compensation becomes necessary instead.

Alongside these religious guidelines, the government has launched the 9999 PM Ramadan Package 2026 to support low-income families.

Clear guidance on Fitrana, Fidya & Kaffara helps people fulfill their obligations correctly and responsibly.
