The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration has announced February 28 as the final date for motorcycle owners to complete M-Tag installation. This marks the second phase of Islamabadโs vehicle tagging initiative.
Starting March 1, riders without an electronic M-Tag will face strict enforcement measures. Authorities have warned that motorcycles may be confiscated and transferred to police custody if riders fail to comply.
The M-Tag installation initiative is part of the cityโs ongoing efforts to improve vehicle monitoring and record management. After successfully implementing M-Tags for cars, the ICT administration is now extending the system to motorcycles. Officials say this will help in better identification, tracking, and law enforcement.
Motorcycle owners can visit several designated M-Tag installation centers across Islamabad. Key locations include:
- F-9 Jinnah Park
- Faizabad
- Police Check Post G-14
- Wheat Godown near Sabzi Mandi Police Station
- Gulberg Greens
- Daman-e-Koh (Murree Road side)
- Malpur
- Tulip Hotel
- Rawat T-Cross
- Ninth Avenue
- Margalla Avenue
Riders must bring their original CNIC and motorcycle registration documents to complete the installation process. Officials emphasized that proper documentation is required for verification and tag issuance.
The ICT administration has urged all motorcycle owners to complete M-Tag installation before the deadline to avoid legal trouble. Authorities stated that the initiative is a step toward safer roads and more efficient law enforcement in Islamabad.
The electronic tagging system is expected to streamline vehicle tracking, reduce theft, and improve overall traffic management. Islamabad authorities are also planning to expand similar measures to enhance city-wide security and compliance in the future.
Motorcycle owners are advised to plan their visits early and ensure all required documents are ready to complete the M-Tag installation process smoothly.
