Security forces in Punjab and Karachi have been placed on high alert following Pakistan’s ‘Ghazab Lil Haq’ operation. The operation was launched after unprovoked firing by Afghan Taliban forces at multiple locations along the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) border.
Inspector General (IG) Punjab Rao Abdul Kareem ordered strict security measures across the province. Police have been placed on high alert, especially around sensitive areas and during Friday prayers. Officers are monitoring internal borders closely and keeping watch on terrorists, miscreants, and suspicious individuals.
“The entire Punjab Police force stands with the armed forces and security agencies,” the IG said. Security has been strengthened at mosques, police check posts, embassies, and other critical installations. Authorities have also been directed to continue search and combing operations to detect potential threats.
High Alert in Karachi
In Karachi, DIG East Farukh instructed all personnel to remain on high alert. Security has been increased at key buildings and sensitive locations. Snap checks and road blockades have been established to monitor suspicious movements.
DIG Farukh emphasized the readiness of the police to handle any internal unrest. He said protecting the country remains the top priority of law enforcement agencies.
Emergency Measures in Chaman Hospitals
In Chaman, Balochistan, the District Health Officer (DHO) imposed an emergency in all hospitals. Medical staff have been directed to remain on alert. Hospitals are ensuring additional medicines and blood supplies are available.
Meanwhile, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar stated that 133 Afghan Taliban members were killed and over 200 injured during Pakistan’s retaliatory action. Defensive targets linked to the Taliban were struck in Kabul, Paktia, and Kandahar.
Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif accused the Afghan Taliban of acting as a proxy for India. He warned that Pakistan’s patience had ended, declaring the situation had escalated into “open war.”
Authorities in Punjab, Karachi, and border districts continue to maintain high alert as operations and security monitoring persist across the country.
