Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra reveals that her late father, Ashok Chopra, would have supported her marriage to Nick Jonas. Ashok passed away in 2013 after a long battle with cancer.
In a recent interview on E! News’ Mythical Kitchen: Last Meals, Priyanka reveals, “Nick is exactly the kind of person my dad would have picked for me if he had a choice.” She highlighted the similarities between Nick and her father, noting their shared love for music.
“My dad’s first love was music. He loved singing it, listening to it, and admiring the artistry behind it,” Chopra said. She further reveals that Ashok would have appreciated Nick’s musical talent and his wisdom. “More than anything, Nick is a really wise soul, and I think he would have wanted someone like that for me,” she added.
Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas tied the knot in 2018 and welcomed their daughter, Malti, four, together. Chopra also shared how moving to the United States felt like a series of serendipitous events. She said, “I almost felt like I had hands behind my back pushing me to move to America, to have a pop career, and eventually meet Nick.”
The actress described her journey as unexpected but meaningful. “It just felt so serendipitous. I had no ambition for it. Circumstances put me in a situation where that became my life, and I had to survive it,” she explained.
