Youm-e-Ali Observed Across Pakistan with Large Processions and Tight Security

Muslims across Pakistan observed Youm-e-Ali on Wednesday with deep respect and devotion. The day marks the martyrdom anniversary of Hazrat Ali (RA). Large mourning processions were held in many cities under strict security arrangements.

Authorities prepared detailed traffic and security plans to ensure safety during Youm-e-Ali processions. Police, scouts, and volunteers worked together to manage crowds and maintain order. Thousands of mourners joined the gatherings to pay tribute to Hazrat Ali (RA).

During the Youm-e-Ali observances, volunteers set up many sabeels along procession routes. These stalls provided cold and sweet drinks to participants, especially as the country is observing the holy month of Ramadan. The events were held peacefully, and no major incidents were reported.

Lahore Procession

In Lahore, the main mourning procession started from Mubarak Haveli. It followed its traditional route and ended at Imambargah Karbala Gamay Shah. Thousands of mourners participated in the solemn procession.

Security forces remained alert throughout the route. Police and other law enforcement personnel were deployed in large numbers to ensure safety during the Youm-e-Ali gathering.

Islamabad Procession

In Islamabad, the martyrdom day of Hazrat Ali (RA) was observed with great devotion. The main procession started from Imambargah Zainabiya in Sector G-6/4. Many mourners from Islamabad and Rawalpindi joined the procession.

The procession moved along its traditional route and ended at the Central Imambargah in Sector G-6/2. Participants broke their fast there and offered evening prayers together.

Authorities placed strong security arrangements along the route. Shipping containers were installed to block nearby roads. Participants entering the area went through body searches at four checkpoints.

Around 3,500 security officials were deployed for the event. Walk-through gates were also installed at entry points to screen mourners. Police, scouts, and peace committee volunteers checked participants before allowing entry.

Law enforcement officials also monitored the area from rooftops of nearby buildings to ensure full security coverage.

Karachi Procession

In Karachi, the main Youm-e-Ali procession started from Nishtar Park at 1 pm. It moved through its designated route and ended at Hussainia Iraniyan Imambargah in Kharadar.

Due to security arrangements, several major roads were closed. According to Karachi Traffic Police, MA Jinnah Road from Guru Mandir to Tower remained closed. Saddar Road from Empress Market to Regal Chowk was also shut for traffic.

Authorities announced alternate routes for commuters to reduce traffic congestion. Vehicles from Nazimabad were directed towards Nishtar Road through Lasbela Chowk and Garden. Traffic from Liaquatabad was advised to travel via Teen Hatti or Central Jail Road.

Motorists traveling from Hasan Square to PP Chowrangi were asked to use Kashmir Road or Sharea Quaideen through Society Light Signal.

Despite the large gatherings, Youm-e-Ali processions across Pakistan concluded peacefully. The observance reflected devotion, discipline, and careful planning by authorities during the sacred occasion.
