The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has rejected claims circulating online about a supposed Attack in Wana, South Waziristan. The claim was shared on social media by the Afghan Talibanโs so-called Ministry of Defense.
According to Pakistani officials, the allegation of a successful Attack is completely false. Authorities said a drone was detected flying over the South Waziristan area. Security systems quickly identified the unmanned aircraft.
Officials explained that the drone was neutralized using soft-kill technology. This method disables drones electronically without causing explosions or physical destruction. As a result, the aircraft was stopped without any damage on the ground.
The ministry confirmed that no military installation, infrastructure, or personnel were harmed during the incident. Authorities stressed that the situation was fully under control. They said the reported Attack never occurred.
In an official statement, the ministry described the Taliban governmentโs claims as fabricated propaganda. Officials said such statements create unnecessary confusion and spread misinformation among the public.
The statement also highlighted past incidents where similar claims were made. In earlier cases, Taliban sources claimed that Pakistan Air Force aircraft were shot down and pilots captured. These claims were later proven false.
Authorities warned that misinformation spreads quickly through social media platforms. They urged citizens to verify news through official sources before sharing it online.
Security experts say false reports of an Attack can increase tensions and create fear among local communities. They emphasized the importance of responsible communication during sensitive security situations.
The ministry encouraged the public and media outlets to rely only on verified government statements. Officials said accurate information helps maintain public confidence and stability.
The government reaffirmed that Pakistanโs security forces remain fully capable of responding to aerial threats. Monitoring systems are active across border regions to detect any suspicious activity.
In its concluding message, the ministry stated that truth always prevails over propaganda and false narratives. Authorities added that transparency and factual reporting remain essential during regional security developments.
