Pakistan’s cricketers Sahibzada Farhan and Fatima Sana have been nominated for the ICC Player of the Month award for February 2026. The nominations highlight their strong performances in recent international matches.
The recognition was announced by the International Cricket Council, commonly known as the ICC. The monthly award honors outstanding players who perform exceptionally in international cricket.
Sahibzada Farhan earned his nomination after an impressive run during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. The Pakistan opener finished the tournament as the highest run-scorer.
Farhan scored a total of 383 runs in the competition. He maintained a strong strike rate of 160.25 and an average of 76.60 throughout the tournament.
During the ICC event, Farhan also set a new record for the most runs in a single edition of the Men’s T20 World Cup. He surpassed the previous record held by Virat Kohli, who scored 319 runs in the 2014 tournament.
The right-handed batter also made history by scoring two centuries in the same tournament. His hundreds came against Namibia and Sri Lanka.
These performances made Farhan the first batter to score two centuries in one edition of the Men’s T20 World Cup. His contributions played a key role in Pakistan’s progress in the ICC tournament.
Pakistan advanced to the Super 8 stage but narrowly missed qualification for the semi-finals.
Meanwhile, Pakistan women’s captain Fatima Sana also earned a nomination after strong performances against South Africa.
Despite Pakistan losing both the ODI and T20I series 2–1, Fatima Sana delivered consistent performances with both bat and ball.
Her best performance came in the first T20 International. She scored an impressive 90 runs to lead Pakistan’s batting effort.
In the third T20I, she scored an unbeaten 47 and also took two wickets for 12 runs. Her all-round display earned her the Player of the Match award.
Fatima Sana also contributed in the ODI series. She scored a valuable half-century and claimed two wickets in the second match.
Across the entire tour, she picked up four wickets in the ODI series and two wickets in T20 matches.
Other nominees in the men’s category include England’s Will Jacks. The all-rounder played an important role in England’s journey to the T20 World Cup semi-finals.
Jacks scored 194 runs at a strike rate of over 173. He also claimed 11 wickets during the tournament.
His performances earned him four Player of the Match awards, the highest by any player in the tournament.
Another nominee is USA fast bowler Saurabh Netravalkar, who impressed with the ball. He claimed 13 wickets during the campaign and maintained an economy rate under eight.

The final winners of the ICC Player of the Month award will be decided through a combination of fan votes and the ICC voting panel.
