ISLAMABAD โ Pakistan International Airlines has temporarily suspended its flights to Fujairah due to rising security concerns in the Gulf region.
According to an official statement, the decision was taken as a precaution. The airline confirmed that the suspension will remain in place for two days. The move comes amid increased regional tensions affecting several Gulf countries.
A spokesperson for PIA said that passenger safety remains the top priority. The airline acted quickly to avoid any potential risks. The suspension took effect immediately after the announcement.
Despite the halt in Fujairah operations, PIA continues to operate flights to Al Ain. This city is currently the only destination in the United Arab Emirates served by the airline. Officials confirmed that these flights are running as scheduled without disruption.
Passengers have been advised to stay updated on flight schedules. They are encouraged to contact PIA offices for assistance with bookings or changes. The airline is also providing support to affected travelers during this period.
Earlier, another incident involving PIA raised concerns. A flight traveling from Fujairah to Lahore faced a technical issue during the journey. The aircraft, operating as flight PK-178, developed a cabin pressure problem mid-air.
As a safety measure, the pilot reduced the aircraftโs altitude to 10,000 feet. The plane was then diverted to Karachi. It landed safely at the airport without any injuries reported among passengers or crew.
Following the landing, a team of engineers began immediate inspection. They worked overnight to resolve the issue and ensure the aircraftโs safety. The airline confirmed that all procedures were followed according to safety standards.
The recent developments highlight the challenges faced by airlines in maintaining operations during uncertain conditions. PIA continues to monitor the situation closely and may adjust its flight schedule if needed.
