LAHORE โ A fake online scheme linked to Maryam Nawaz is spreading rapidly across Pakistan ahead of Eid. The scam falsely promises cash assistance to citizens.
The fraudulent campaign, named the โMaryam Nawaz Eidi Scheme,โ claims to offer Rs.5,000 through digital wallets. It targets users via platforms like WhatsApp, Facebook, and YouTube.
According to reports, the fake Maryam Nawaz scheme appears in Google searches and third-party websites. It directs users to a suspicious website designed to look official. However, the domain is privately registered and not linked to the government.

The Punjab government has clearly stated that no such program exists. There has been no official announcement or confirmation from credible sources. Despite this, the scam continues to gain attention online.
The fake Maryam Nawaz Eidi Scheme claims that people aged 12 and above can apply. It asks for CNIC or B-Form details for registration. Users are told they will receive Rs.5,000 through Easypaisa or JazzCash after verification.
The website uses government-style language to appear authentic. It also mentions real financial platforms, making it more convincing for users. After submission, applicants are promised a confirmation SMS.
However, further investigation reveals several red flags. The website lacks official contact details or government verification. It is built on a basic platform and includes links to gambling and gaming apps.
Experts warn that the main goal of this scam is to collect personal data. This includes ID card numbers, mobile numbers, and digital wallet details. Such information can be used for fraud, identity theft, or financial crimes.
The timing of the scam, close to Eid, increases its impact. Many people may trust the offer due to financial needs during the festive season.
Authorities have urged citizens to stay cautious. People should avoid sharing personal information on unverified websites. It is important to rely only on official government announcements.
