The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Lahore has released key guidelines for students appearing in the 2026 matriculation annual exams. The exams are scheduled to begin on March 27.
According to officials, students must arrive at their examination centers at least 45 minutes before the start time. Late arrivals will not be allowed entry under any circumstances. These rules are part of the boardโs effort to ensure a smooth examination process.
To maintain exam integrity, all centers will implement biometric verification. Each studentโs identity will be confirmed before allowing entry into the examination hall. The board included these instructions on roll number slips to ensure every candidate is informed.
Authorities emphasized that following the key guidelines is mandatory to uphold a fair and organized environment. The measures aim to prevent cheating, maintain transparency, and guarantee merit-based evaluation throughout the exams.
Earlier, the Punjab government approved digital biometric verification for students in both matriculation and intermediate examinations. The system is designed to prevent forgery, cheating, and irregularities.
During a meeting at BISE Lahore, attended by senior officials from all nine Punjab educational boards, reforms for practical exams were also approved. Measures include CCTV monitoring in laboratories, a standardized grading system, and a digital marking system. These reforms aim to reduce human errors and corruption.
The meeting also addressed examination staff accountability. The government decided to increase compensation for invigilators and other exam personnel to ensure honesty and diligence.
Officials urged students and staff to strictly follow the key guidelines to guarantee a smooth, fair, and transparent examination process. The new measures reflect the boardโs commitment to improving exam standards and ensuring merit-based results.
With these steps, BISE Lahore aims to create a secure, organized, and trustworthy environment for all students appearing in the 2026 matric exams. Compliance with the key guidelines will be closely monitored at every examination center.
