Armed Robber Pretending To Be A Beggar Holds Up Motorist On Karachi’s Tariq Road

A shocking incident occurred in Karachi’s Ferozeabad area when a man disguised as a beggar beggar loots a motorist during peak traffic hours. CCTV footage shows the suspect approaching a vehicle, pretending to ask for money.

As the driver lowered the window, the suspect suddenly brandished a firearm, threatening the victim. He then snatched cash and a mobile phone before fleeing. The crowded traffic allowed him to escape quickly.

Police obtained the CCTV footage and launched a search operation. Authorities are working to identify the individual and prevent similar crimes. Citizens have been urged to stay alert, especially in traffic jams or crowded areas.

This case is not isolated. Law enforcement has noted a rise in professional beggars involved in criminal activities. Recent reports suggest that some beggars use deception to commit theft and robberies, particularly near busy intersections and markets.

Last week, Commissioner Karachi Syed Hassan Naqvi addressed the growing concern of professional beggars ahead of Eid al-Fitr. He instructed Deputy Commissioners to intensify operations against beggars across markets, shopping centers, and public intersections.

According to the Commissioner’s office, 144 professional beggars were arrested in the last 10 days. FIRs were lodged against 30 beggars under the supervision of the concerned assistant commissioners. Authorities emphasize that cracking down on such criminal elements is crucial for public safety.

Experts warn that incidents like these highlight the need for vigilance. Citizens are advised to avoid giving money directly to beggars in traffic and report suspicious behavior immediately.

In this latest episode, the suspect successfully beggar loots the motorist, but police hope to apprehend him soon. The incident serves as a reminder of growing street crime in urban areas.

Authorities continue to monitor high-risk zones and are planning stricter measures to curb incidents where professional beggars turn into criminals. Residents are encouraged to cooperate with law enforcement to maintain safety.

The Karachi police stress that public awareness and timely reporting are essential to prevent future cases where a beggar loots unsuspecting victims.
