China Appreciates Pakistan’s Role in Promoting Middle East peace

China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi expressed that his country envoy supports Pakistan’s active efforts in promoting peace and ending conflicts in West Asia.

The remarks came during a meeting with Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, who visited Beijing from March 31 to April 1, 2026. The visit was at the invitation of Wang Yi.

According to the Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the meeting took place in a warm and cordial atmosphere. Both leaders discussed bilateral relations and exchanged views on regional developments in West Asia.

Deputy Prime Minister Dar briefed Wang Yi on Pakistan’s efforts to encourage dialogue and cease conflicts. He highlighted the recent Islamabad meeting involving foreign ministers from Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, and Egypt.

Wang Yi noted that China envoy supports Pakistan’s role in fostering regional stability and expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s proactive diplomacy. Both sides reviewed the regional security situation and discussed its socio-economic impacts on developing nations.

In this context, China and Pakistan launched a five-point initiative aimed at restoring peace and stability in the Gulf and the Middle East. Officials emphasized the importance of collaboration to achieve lasting results.

The two leaders also reviewed the growing momentum in bilateral relations. They underscored plans for high-quality development and strategic cooperation under CPEC 2.0. High-level exchanges and communication were emphasized during the year marking the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties.

Deputy Prime Minister Dar thanked Wang Yi for the warm welcome and exceptional hospitality extended to him and his delegation. They also exchanged views on Afghanistan, emphasizing peace, stability, and counter-terrorism efforts.

Analysts note that China envoy supports Pakistan’s initiatives reflect Beijing’s commitment to regional peace and its strategic partnership with Islamabad. Both countries reaffirmed their intention to remain in regular contact to address regional challenges.
