Chawla Green Motors has launched a new lower-priced variant of the Dongfeng Box electric vehicle in Pakistan, expanding options for buyers in the countryโs growing entry-level EV market.
The newly introduced Dongfeng Box Smart 330 is positioned as the most affordable model in the lineup, carrying a price tag of Rs. 5,500,000. The vehicle offers a claimed driving range of 330 kilometers on a single charge, making it Rs. 900,000 cheaper than the previous base variant, which provided a 430-kilometer range and was priced at Rs. 6,400,000.
With the addition of this variant, the Dongfeng Box lineup in Pakistan now includes three models. The Dongfeng Box Flagship 430 is priced at Rs. 6,800,000, while the Dongfeng Box Lux 430 costs Rs. 6,400,000. The newly launched Smart 330 now serves as the entry point for customers looking to switch to electric mobility at a lower price.
The launch comes at a time when competition in Pakistanโs compact EV segment is increasing. Recently, Capital Smart Motors introduced the JMEV EV3 in two variants aimed at budget-conscious buyers.
The EV3 Comfort is priced at Rs. 4,899,999, while the EV3 Premium costs Rs. 4,999,999. Both models feature a 30 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery offering a claimed WLTP range of 271 kilometers, along with modern safety and convenience features such as a 10.1-inch infotainment system, dual airbags, vehicle stability assist, hill start assist, tyre pressure monitoring system, and a 360-degree camera.
Industry observers say the arrival of more affordable electric vehicles signals growing momentum in Pakistanโs EV market, as automakers compete to attract price-sensitive consumers and support the gradual shift toward cleaner transportation.
